One of the core values of FIRST is the positive impact of STEM. At Cougartech, we we strive to make a positive impact on our community through fun events, presentations, and community service. Not only does this spread awareness of the local robotics team, but it also inspires kids to persue science and engineering carrers, and become to-morrow's innovators. From parades to robot demos, we really do it all. We hold annual meetings with the school board and are even invited by sponsors to check out their businesses, ensuring consistant communication and funding within our community. Of course, we also have a large impact on our members. Over 90% of Cougartech members make it into a university, and the data shows that 83% of FIRST alumnni pursue STEM majors by year 4. Besides all that, members are just plain happy to be on such a tight-knit and supportive team that allows them to work towards something bigger.
