Welcome to CougarTech!
Hello, and welcome to the website of FIRST Team 2228 CougarTech, located in Honeoye Falls, NY. CougarTech is a veteran FRC team that prides itself on its coopertition with other teams and its teaching of younger teams. During the six weeks of build season, we build a robot to play the year's new game that FIRST designs each year. During the off season, we work on public outreach, recruitment, fundraising and sponsorship to support our team and FIRST.
About Our Team
We are a robotics team established in 2006. Our current team membership is composed of about 40 students. Our team is composed of students from the Honeoye Falls-Lima (HF-L) and Rush Henrietta (R-H) Central School Districts. We are sponsored primarily by General Motors and Xerox. Other support comes from SouthCo, Han-Tek, Pittsford Federal Credit Union, Orolia, Precise Tool, Weiders, Day Automation, Wegmans, Second Avenue, Plug, McQuillen Manufacturing, Mindex, LSI Solutions, Ralph W. Earl Co., Honeoye Falls-Lima High School, Rochester Community Robotics, Ruck's Pizza Kitchen, and Stottler Development LLC.
Our Mission
Our mission is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders, by engaging them in exciting programs that build science, engineering and technology skills that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication and leadership.
What is FIRST Robotics?
Starting with a Kit of Parts, teams of high school students design, program, and build industrial-sized robots to play an action-packed game, released every year January. They compete on a themed field as part of a three-team alliance in the spirit of Coopertition®. In 360-degree learning guided by adult mentors, each FIRST® Robotics Competition team also creates a team identity, raises funds to meet its goals, and advances appreciation for STEM in its community.
